St Mary’s Church Codford

St Mary's Church offers and fulfils all the offices expected of a church; baptisms, marriages, funerals, interments of ashes, Thanksgiving and Memorial Services, and services of Commemoration of national, regional and local events of note. A poignant service held on 25th April annually is an example of the latter: the ANZAC Cemetery, adjacent to St Mary's, is the final resting place for 66 New Zealand and 31 Australian soldiers.

Routinely, St Mary's Church provides a Christian place of worship in a quiet part of the village; the church is over 700 years old and hosts, usually, two services a month. It offers a warm welcome to everyone - local and visiting, and offers a wide range of Sunday services from Holy Communion, through Matins, Evensong and Morning Prayer on Sunday, to the less formal Pet Services, Songs of Praise and Carol Services.

The church is open to all daily from about 9 am to 6 pm and when nothing formal  is happening in it, it always provides a place of quiet, of peace and of sanctuary. It is the spiritual hub of St Mary's Parish and its parishioners provide a useful network of pastoral support, together with many others.
